Kayleigh Anne Freeman

About a month ago I came across a blog documenting the journey of a beautiful premie baby called Kayleigh Anne Freeman - the one pound blessing. Around that time she was about to have hernia surgery (common with premies), a feeding tube placement and Nissen surgery for reflux issues. After recovery from these procedures she was scheduled to go home to start life after 11 long tough months in the NICU with her loving and devoted family. To be at home in her own bed and room that was lovingly created for her. Something went terribly wrong and her brain was deprived oxygen/blood at some stage during or just after the surgery resulting in irrepairable damage that over the next few weeks took her life. Such a tragic ending and not at all how anyone expected her life to be cut so short. I have never seen such dedicatation documented. Such an outpooring and sharing of emotion and faith as her father, Adam showed in writing about his beautiful daughter on his blog. It brought people from around the world together in prayer, prayers which he and his wife believe pulled Kayleigh through on many occasions when she was close to death. Sadly no amount of prayers was able to get her through her last battle, which she fought hard. Reading back through the blog is heart wrenching. It is also uplifting to see such love for a family and for their faith. She was a special little soul and is now at peace until her loving and adoring family gets to spend eternity with her in heaven. Until that time anyone that knows the story will no doubt always remember what a special baby Kayleigh was and is. I know I will.
